SUMMARY:
Provides courteous assistance to patients, commercial insurance payers, managed care payers, and private payers. Researches and resolves billing inquiries from patients and other facilities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborates with a team of passionate individuals in a dynamic office environment. Coordinate all transportation needs for both private patient transportation from the community as well as contracted medical facilities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains courteous and cooperative working relationships with all levels of management and employees, physicians, patients/parents, guarantors, third-party representatives and the general public.
- Coordinate ambulance transportation for contracted medical facilities, private patients and insurance companies
- Field all incoming telephonic transport requests in a timely and profession manner, ensuring accurate demographics, billing information and authorizations has been obtained
- Field any incoming complaints on common operations and missing items. Generate an incident report and forward to appropriate supervisor.
- Makes recommendations to solve problems.
- Provides accurate summary of personal productivity to Supervisor on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Demonstrates professional growth through periodic participation in continuing education/development programs.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- One year healthcare experience required or two years general customer service experience in a fast pace environment.
Certification and Licensure:
- None required
Skills:
- Familiarity with health insurance verifications, authorizations and medical terminology preferred.
- Familiarity with automated patient accounting systems and/or electronic billing systems preferred.
- Familiarity with scanning/uploading documentations onto CAD system
- Documentation skills.
Performance Benchmarks:
- Meets established daily customer service productivity goals.
- Resolves accounts requiring research and processes all correspondence as established by department policy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High level of sitting/working at desk.
- Light physical effort (lift/carry up to 10 lbs.).
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed under basically normal working conditions, as in a standard office environment.
